Field Mouse set on Flickr →
Hi friend Laurie recently filmed & recorded a band in our living room as part of a series of films he’s making for a DVD & university project. Me and Tom helped out and I took some photos with my seldom-used DSLR which you see on Flickr. Oh, the band’s called Field Mouse and they’re quite delightful. Can’t wait to see the film. x

Need Motivation
Studying music gets old. Really old. I’m not good enough at writing music to keep it fun/satisfying - it’s more frustrating than anything else. Need something new. That is all. x

meadowvale asked: "JoA, DC, MT" is not my fave JoA album, but they are my favorite band. I recommend "The Gap," "Flowers," "How Memory Works," or "Live in Chicago." I like them all, but they're all quite different, so don't write them off if you don't like the one you got. American Football is also good (:

POLYVINYL
They had a two for one CD sale thingy on classic Polyvinyl albums so I thought, “OH WELL WHY NOT?”, so I did! Gots American Football - American Football and Joan Of Arc - Joan Of Arc, Dick Cheney, Mark Twain (no Deerhoof on the sale. gutter) Not really listened to either band before. Got immediate download of the albums so I don’t have to wait for them to arrive from UHMERICUH ...

Tunings/Inspirations?
Trying to write some music in the vein of Deerhoof meets Battles.  It’s for a class I’m taking called Music Software Applications (basically about using softwares like Ableton and the relevant hardware in a live music setting). But, instead of doing the usual beats&glitches deal, I’m wanting to use a band and do some danceable happy songs that are still interesting. Like...

We’ll be selling demos of our debut EP ‘Go For The Gills’ at the Chem19 showcase gig on Saturday. They consist of card artwork in a plastic wallet, with spray-painted CDs (good idea, eh?). Pictures to follow (tomorrow, hopefully). x

Quite excited.
Meeting with Butters tonight to look at artwork sketches for the Pinky Suavo EP. Coincidentally forcing us to make an actual decision for EP as well as record label titles.  Thus, this looks to be the birth of our record label. How long till we’re bankrupt? x
